Message from Principal Famous

Farewell Brooks Crossing!

An amazing and truly wonderful time at Brooks Crossing/Deans comes to an end for me on Friday. I leave with some of the fondest memories any Principal could hope for, and I thank all of you for welcoming me into the BC family. I am very honored to have come here and feel very privileged to have closed out my South Brunswick career at Brooks Crossing. I appreciate all of you and thank you for your commitment to our school. Your friendly and very talented children have been a great source of joy for me and have provided me with great hope for our future.

As I have shared before, I take my leave knowing that the school is in great hands. I am thankful for the outstanding faculty and staff I have worked with over the last four years. Your children are fortunate to have such a caring and dedicated group of educators, and there is no doubt that great things will continue to happen at Brooks Crossing.

I thank you and wish you all the very best!

Hello from Joseph Anzek, Interim Principal

Greetings everyone. So far I’ve had several delightful days at Deans and Brooks Crossing as I prepare to replace Mr. Famous. I have met with many of the classes. The children are energetic, charming and witty but I’m sure you already know that.

I look forward to getting to meet many of you as we proceed through the standardized testing period, the Joanne Kerekes Art Gallery, Kindergarten Orientation, the play, Spring Break, 5th Grade Recognition and, I’m sure, a few other important events that will occur in the next three months.

With standardized testing approaching: April 10 & 11 for 3rds and April 12 & 15 for 4ths and April 16 & 17 for 5ths, it's a good time to take a look at bedtime and breakfast habits. Good rest and nutrition can help somewhat in providing energy and stamina for the work to be done on the tests.

Please reach out. I’m at ext. 5701, or

Student Placement for 2019-2020

Even though we have much to do and many tasks yet to complete for the current school year, in late April - early May, we will begin the initial planning steps for the 2019-2020 school year. As part of that process our teachers will be giving lots of thought to how our students are progressing academically, socially and emotionally, and determining which teachers might be a great fit and match for each child for next year. I believe every one of our teachers know the students in their class very well and will be able to make excellent decisions regarding placement for next year. However, parent input is always welcomed. Should you have any specific information that you believe your child’s teacher does not already have regarding the needs of your child, please feel free to email Assistant Principal Lisa Rogol with your thoughts issues or concerns at as soon as possible. Please understand that we can not make any promises regarding your child’s placement with a particular teacher, but all parents should feel free to reach out to Lisa Rogol if you are holding “need to know” information about your child and their class placement for next year.
