Reflections from Ms. Williams
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
Our week was filled with end of semester assessments and some fun! From special dress up days to popcorn, we enjoyed the last week of this semester. Our 7th grade science students immersed themselves in hands-on learning with pig dissection, and many students were involved in honoring longtime school board member Katie Reeves who hosted her final meeting with us at WBMS.
Without a doubt it has been a full semester! I am proud of our students’ hard work and growth, and I am thankful for our supportive community! I wish you all a restful and fun-filled winter break! Enjoy time with family and friends.

Message from FCS Office of Student Supports
The holidays are upon us, and though the season may be joyous for some people, realistically, others may need extra support during this time. The Office of Student Supports has provided students and families with the list below to access if needed - not just over the winter break, but anytime during the year. The list includes support services for food, housing, emergency mental health services, and financial or medical assistance.
If students or families experience a crisis over the winter break, they should seek immediate assistance using the attached resources or by calling 911 if it is an emergency. Students and families are encouraged to follow up with their school's Office of Student Support staff, who will be available to assist and offer ongoing support upon returning to school.
Wishing you a happy and healthy season!
FCS Office of Student Supports
Thank you for your generosity!
The WBMS counseling department would like to thank the community for donating these wonderful books to share with our students. Happy holidays!

December Updates
As Winter Break nears, our students have been very busy with Service Learning. Thank you to all of the students, teachers, and families who are living our mission – through an inclusive community, we commit to cultivate each facet of each child in order to have a positive impact on tomorrow’s world. We wanted to take a moment and highlight this week’s SERVICE LEARNING THROUGH ACTION:
6th Grade
The 6th grade council members bravely entered all 6th grade Compass classes to introduce themselves and the work they’ll be doing over the year. We know how hard it can be to speak in front of peers, so congrats to this team on their first public speaking experience as leaders of the inaugural 6th grade Character Council. The next goal is to research a local organization that works with refugees. Keep an eye out for our newest partnership.
7th Grade
The 7th grade council members visited our local elementary schools Creekview and New Prospect. They read I Dream of Water to fourth and fifth grade students. This is a huge part of educating our community on the importance of clean water access. Highlights from our 7th grade leaders included the following: the students really felt emotions while listening to us read, the students shared experiences of family members walking for water, and the students expressed how lucky they felt compared to the characters in the book. The council members then distributed invitations to the 2nd Annual WBMS Walks for Water. We can’t wait to see our elementary school students at this year’s walk. Registration for the walk is now opened. Please consider walking for water. http://bit.ly/3ijpuua
2nd Annual WBMS Walks for Water
8th Grade
The 8th grade council members accomplished a tremendous act of service: this past Wednesday, the entire 8th grade made over 1004 sandwiches (surpassing our goal!) based on all the generous donations we received. All 8th graders built either (PB&J, Ham, Turkey, Or Chicken) sandwiches in their social studies classes. It was a great time had by all giving back to the community and spreading cheer while participating. The excitement radiated down the halls as students were excited to help. We are hoping to keep this a tradition as part of our service learning for 8th grade.

Our school was recently named a 2021-2023 National PTA School of Excellence!
To earn this designation WBMS had to demonstrate families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and that our PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement. Becoming a National PTA School of Excellence began with the joint commitment of PTA and our phenomenal administrative team to work together to welcome all families, communicate effectively, support student success, speak up for every child, share power and collaborate with the community. Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!
