General Updates and Reminders...
- MICA-Phase 2 went live Sept. 4 in which all teachers will get new logins that will be the same as your Edtools login. Please see your testing coordinator with any questions.
- Edulastic-All students have been imported into Edulastic. You can create your assessments in Edulastic and administer to students via computers or ipads. Please let me know if you have any questions about getting your students into your classes. I will be having PD sessions on Edulastic in Oct.
- Student Email and OneDrive-All students in grades 3-8 now have active OneDrive accounts and students in grades 9-12 have active email accounts if they have turned in their Parent Checklist. This is a great opportunity to have students on the computers and collaborating with teachers and fellow students. Please let me know if you need some help implementing this with your students. You can book a time with me to work with your students as well to ensure that they know how to use Office 365 appropriately.
- Computer Lab Signup-(EAG Only) Please use the calendar the way that you did last year to sign up for computer labs. The elementary lab is no longer available for sign up since it is being use for the computer lab rotation for grades K-5 in the Elem. Library. The new high school lab is available for signup using the username newhslab and the same password as the other labs. Let me know if you have any questions.
- Imports-Most programs are up and running at this time. Please let me know if you have a question about a program or if you would like for me to work with your students. EAG-There was a problem with FasttMath and I am working on it and I will let you know when it is back up and running. Also I will be importing into the New Lexia Core5 and I will get more information to you about that as well.
DATA, DATA, DATA
Inspire Data for Entering In Common Formative Assessment Data
This year we will all be using InspireData to enter in our student information from Common Formative Assessments. This is a program that we have in the county to graphically manipulate student data so that we can better analyze the information in order to provide remediation and enrichment effectively. I have created most of the databases for everyone in which I will be putting in Teacher apps for you to access. I will be training on this program more and meeting with your PLC teams after you give your first CFA to help you analyze the data. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Online Collaboration/Brainstorming Tools-Great for BYOD
Answer Garden
is a minimalistic feedback tool. Use it in the classroom as an educational tool or at work as a creative brainstorming tool. Post it in a tweet or you can embed it on your website or blog to use it as a poll or guestbook. It creates a word cloud from student responses. No account needed-very easy to use.
Padlet
Padlet is a virtual wall that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily. It works like an online sheet of paper where people can put any content (e.g. images, videos, documents, text) anywhere on the page, together with anyone, from any device. You can moderate posts and make the padlet private. This is a great BYOD tool to use with students.
Today's Meet
TodaysMeet was one of the first backchannel tools built for classroom use. Teachers and students alike love and use TodaysMeet for a number of reasons. TodaysMeet is simple. While there are powerful tools available, conversation, the main activity, is very easy. You can also print out the transcript after the lesson for students who were absent or to post on your website.
