Kenyon Volunteers are Returning!

Better Together

Families,

We are all (staff and students) getting into the groove of school completing another full week. It was a difficult decision, but our Summer Reading Reward, Wet-n-Wild Water Day, had to be rescheduled for Tuesday, September 13th. Of course, the weather was fine Tuesday afternoon which was frustrating for all, but you never can fully predict. We are still looking for volunteers, so please let us know if you are available to help out with the water day activities. It's a fun afternoon!

You will see below pictures from Mr. John Frye, District Communication Specialist, visiting our school to take video for our website. Ms. Waugh's class had the chance to learn more about how video is taken, and also had a visit from our Superintendent, Mr. Bill Seder. If you haven't checked out the website lately, you will want to see the new video here. Also, there are other news article and Social Media posts available.

Mrs. Biggerstaff has included pictures of some of the rock art work based on the book, Only One You by Linda Kranz, which will be displayed in a river rock garden outside the gym that they will pass each day on their way to the playground. We are another step closer to creating this colorful addition to our school grounds.

Thrive Kids start next week, Tuesday morning, from 8:15-8:45 am. Students brought home a copy of the permission slip today, and they can be retuned on Tuesday. It's a great way for students to get moving and prepare their brain for learning and growth!

Lastly, Kenyon volunteers will be joining us again starting next week. It's always amazing to me how generous these students are with their time, and it was nice getting to know some of the freshman that signed up at the Kenyon Involvement Fair last Saturday.

Have a great LONG weekend!

Best wishes,

Christy Grandstaff

Thrive Kids Coming to Wiggin Street!

Thrive Kids starts on Tuesday, September 6th! We can’t wait to get moving with your kiddos and help them grow strong BODIES and MINDS! During this 6-week session we will be working on a variety of movement activities and challenges that will help students to increase their cardiovascular endurance as well as their mental grit. We will work to guide them in recognizing their inner strength and how they can use that strength to be a leader!

If you are interested in signing up, you can click on the following link, movegrowthrive.com/waiver, and students brought home a copy today. Since Monday is Labor Day, they can be returned the morning of September 6th.
