Elkton Elementary School Memo
August 24, 2020
Dear EES Students and Families,
I hope this memo finds you and your family doing well considering all the issues this pandemic has brought to you.
I have attached a link to the Reopening of Schools Parent and Student Handbook. The first section is a letter from me and a summary of our reopening health and safety guidelines. This is followed by a more detailed handbook with information about instruction, school programs, meal costs/policies, and much more. Please take time to go through the school handbook.
I will highlight several reopening policies each week:
-For health and safety reasons, parents may not walk their child to class. There will be staff members on hand to do this each morning. Parents may say goodbye to their child outside the school or in the entrance foyer.
-Students will be asked to use the provided hand sanitizer upon entrance into the school.
- If your child is attending school in person, please have him/her practice wearing a mask for periods of time. Remember, masks must be worn on the bus and in class (there will be mask breaks).
-Breakfast will be delivered to the Pre-k-1 classrooms
Class lists were given to teachers last Friday. If your child is doing the blended model, the teacher will be contacting you within the week. Students doing the Home Learning Academy (HLA) will be contacted by August 31/Sept 1st. Those class lists are still being made.
