Grizzly Gives Week

Hello Parents-

It is time to start thinking about helping out ThunderRidge high school with their Grizzly Gives campaign. We will be collecting coins to show how much Coyote Creek Cares. Each classroom will have a bucket to collect the coins. This is truly about giving what you can- no pressure.

Here are the local families that TRHS has chosen to support this year:

The Allen Family

Mother – Brittany

Cha Cha – 12 years old

Sir Wooden – 4 years old

Gianna – 3 years old

Cha Cha was diagnosed with Sickle Cell disease, complicated by vaso-occlusive crisis and acute chest syndrome, when she was two years old. Sickle Cell disease is said to be one of the most painful diseases you can have and causes Cha Cha to be in extreme pain every day. Brittany was in an abusive relationship with the kids' father, and after realizing the situation wasn't safe for herself or her kids, she decided to leave him and is now a single mother. She does not receive any financial assistance from her ex.

The Samson Family

Father – Gurmu

Mother – Biset

Nathaniel – 9 years old

Edna – 7 years old

Joshua – 2 years old

Joshua has Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD) which is a genetic disorder in which white blood cells called phagocytes are unable to kill certain types of bacteria and fungi. People with CGD are highly susceptible to frequent and sometimes life-threatening bacterial and fungal infections. Joshua had to have a bone marrow transplant and received this transplant from his older brother Nathaniel. Originally, the transplant went well. Still, shortly after Joshua was sent home from the hospital, his lungs and heart started to swell, and he was admitted back to the hospital for emergency surgery. He has been extremely sick since birth and requires a lot of care from his parents. Both parents had to stop working to care for their kids and have now fallen behind on their bills. One parent stays in the hospital with Joshua for a couple of days while the other parent takes care of the other two kids, and then they switch places for a couple of days.

If you want to support their evening spirit nights, they are as follows:

Monday February 27th

Chick 5-8

Cold Stone 5-8

Tuesday February 28th

Freddy’s 4-8

Wednesday March 1st

Wear TRHS or Green and Blue

Chipotle 4-8

Thursday March 2nd

Dutch Bros all day

Tropical Smoothie 3-6

Friday March 3rd

Cafe Rio

Monday March 6th

McDonald's

Tuesday March 7th

Grizzly Gives assembly - Ms. Rahne and some 6th graders will be presenting our big check at this assembly!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me at dmontano2@dcsdk12.org

Join CCE PTO and King Soopers Contest

Did you know that CCE earned $8k through the King Soopers Community Rewards program last year?! Even more amazing is that this huge total was generated by only having 150 families signed up and identifiying CCE as the nonprofit organization that receives the benefits when they shop! Imagine how much we could raise if we had more participation? To accomplish that goal we're introducing a King Soopers Contest!

A few times during the school year the PTO will have a drawing for a $25 King Soopers gift card. To be eligible to win all you have to do is link your King Soopers account to Coyote Creek PTO and email a screen shot showing your enrollment!

Here's how to do it:

  • Go to the app, click on the three lines icon on the upper right corner
  • ***New users will need to create a King Soopers account which requires basic
  • information, a valid email address and a rewards card.***
  • 2. Click on "Rewards"
  • 3. Then "Community Rewards"
  • 4. Under “Link your Card to an organization” click on the link labeled “here” to search
  • for Coyote Creek PTO either by name or WX862
  • 5. Click Enroll

To be entered into the raffle:

Take a screenshot of your enrollment and email it to PTO Treasurer Amy Haines and you are in the drawing for the $25 King Soopers giftcard!

Are you already enrolled?

Thank you! Take a screenshot of your enrollment (under "Rewards" and "Community Rewards" and email it to Amy Haines and you are ALSO entered in the drawing for the $25 King Soopers giftcard!

Rules:

Drawings will be held 4 times this school year. The next chance to win is February 28th at midnight MST. Winner will be chosen via random number generator. If you win at any point during the year, you cannot win again. If you don't win, you don't need to reenter the drawing, your name will stay in the pool all year.

Bonus idea: Enter your other family members, coworkers, neighbors, dog walkers, etc. and send a screenshot from them for more entries to win! Staff is welcome to enter as well. Good luck and thank you!
