How Can I Support You?
*Instructional Rounds: To encourage you to get fresh ideas and reflect upon your own teaching, visit your colleagues’ rooms and learn from each other. Rounds are not for evaluation; rounds are for collaboration and professional reflection of the observers. If you would like to schedule some instructional rounds, please see your coach to make this happen.
*Video tape your lesson: Although it sounds scary, it is an enlightening experience. You will learn so much more about yourself as a teacher and about your students. If you would like help with this service, please see your coach.
BE HEARD!
Keep these principles in mind for a great parent–teacher conference:
Best intentions assumed
Emphasis on learning
Home–school collaboration
Examples and evidence
Active listening
Respect for all
Dedication to follow-up

Student Reflections
Here is an example of a student reflection that could be filled out prior to conferences to show parents or have students share with parents themselves. Involving students in conferences can be very powerful. Reflecting allows students opportunities to come up with solutions and strategies to improve on their learning.
