Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of December 20th
Message from the Principal
Dear Davenport Staff & Students,
What a year this has been!
You ALL have been nothing short of AMAZING! Your ability to adapt to constant changes, learn new things, work through technology challenges: from shutdowns, frozen screens, being kicked out completely, just to name a few... you were still able to PUSH through. Throughout the challenges you PERSEVERED! As we move into a New Year, I challenge you to continue to PERSEVERE and learn new things
Use this time to be mindful, relax with your family, sleep in late, binge watch your favorite shows, exercise, or read a good book. Whatever you do, give yourselves time to BREATH! Thank you for all you do for the Davenport students, families and community.
Happy Holidays from my family to yours! Be well.
Mrs. White, Principal

Mindfulness in Art Class
Mrs. Pfaeffli's art students completed a Mindfulness Labyrinth drawing. Labyrinth's date back to about 4,000 years ago and were intended to promote centering the mind, relaxing the mind, or emptying a mind that may be too full and in need of a "brain break." It is used by following the path with your finger or a similar tool. If done slowly and a couple times, it should successfully evoke a feeling of calm. It is always a bonus when we're able to make art that is also useful!

Davenport Physical Education Students Pay Special Tribute to Health Care Workers
During the holiday season, students in Mr. Holibaugh and Miss Ricci’s Physical Education classes learned about gratitude for their healthy topic. They were able to put this healthy tip into practice by making “Thank You’s” for health care workers.
Students learned about all those that work in the hospital setting and were able to create a “thank you” in many different ways including: letters, poems, drawings and songs. These thank you’s were collected and distributed to the local area hospitals to be shared at AtlantiCare Mainland Campus, AtlantiCare City Campus, and Shore Memorial Hospital.
Their heartfelt and creative efforts were shared in hopes that our very important health care workers know that they are not alone, how much they are appreciated and that our Davenport family is behind them supporting all their dedication and hard work!
