Return to Normal Procedures for Logging Hours Worked
Starting with the next payroll period on Saturday, June 13, 2020, the District is planning to return to its normal procedures for determining hours worked/paid and leave dockage for missing time in the Time Clock Plus time management system. Since returning from spring break in distance learning mode, employees have generally been paid their contracted work hours, regardless of how many hours they have worked and/or entered into Time Clock Plus. In addition, leave balances for employees have generally not been utilized unless a request for leave has been entered into Time Clock Plus or requested through HREQ.
Starting on Saturday, June 13, 2020, employees under contract will be expected to work their daily contracted hours on campus or virtually. Each employee’s Time Clock Plus records should reflect the hours he/she worked either on campus or remotely. Any employees who are contracted to be working but who are missing time in Time Clock Plus at the end of the payroll period will have accumulated sick leave applied to cover the difference.
Exempt/salaried employees like teachers contracted for ESY and school/department administrators may continue to utilize the Time Clock Plus Timesheet to log their hours. All salaried/exempt employees should be entering their hours regularly, and must have their timesheet complete by the end of each payroll period. At the end of each payroll period, any exempt/salaried employee who does not have time entered on a given contracted work day will have his/her sick leave balance utilized to cover the difference.
Non-exempt/hourly employees like secretaries and custodians should be punching in and out each day through the time clock kiosks at their respective worksite, or through the District’s web-clock if they are working remotely. At the end of each payroll period, any non-exempt/hourly employee who does not have their contracted work hours entered into Time Clock Plus will have his/her sick leave balance utilized to cover the difference.
Employees who are under contract during this summer and who have questions or issues should contact their worksite administrator for guidance or assistance. More specific information about physically returning to your school or department will be sent out to employees as we get closer to the July 1, 2020, target for doing so.
