5th Grade ***VERY IMPORTANT***
The annual student survey window is open. Please plan to have all students complete this survey before April 1. If you need help with make-ups, please let me know. This is a different survey than the one we gave a few weeks ago. At this time, only 37 students in 5th grade have completed this survey.
To access the survey, click here!
The survey can be taken between the hours of 7-5. Once you click "start survey" I understand you will need the school BEDS code. Ebinport is 4603023
Let me know if you have any questions. I can check through the state department website to see how many students have take this survey. Only fifth graders are required to take this!
How to Make Stress Your Friend...
If you are like me the thing you are running away from at the moment is stress, especially as we embark on a much needed, well-deserved Spring Break. AND...I wanted to share with you a TED talk that I watched earlier this week. Many of you know that I teach a class to seniors at Winthrop. This experience has supported me professionally and has put me in touch with some amazing first year teaching candidates (and I hope they learned a little something, too :) ). This week's class focused on first year stress, but I argue that it is relevant to teachers in any year of teaching! Take a look at this TED talk. The very last thing the speaker says is, "Chasing meaning is better for your health than trying to avoid discomfort."
Thank you for "chasing meaning" at Ebinport. Each of you brings a unique dynamic to our building that makes it work! You are not afraid of being uncomfortable if it is in the best interests of children! You are amazing and I hope you will use this week to relax and reflect. I hope that this little snippet helps you to learn to make stress your friend!
Shout Outs
Thank you Remi for being there for our kids!
Welcome, JW Smith
