Mesa Bears!!!!
The Winter Holidays are Approaching!!!
Upcoming Events
This month we have a number of concerts performed by our Band, Orchestra, and Choir. We hope that you are able to attend one of these events to see our amazing students.
PASSPORT TO MESA
Please mark your calendars for Passport to Mesa. Passport to Mesa is an open house that will give current 6th graders (2019-2020 7th graders), and their parents/guardians, the opportunity to visit Mesa and explore all of the wonderful courses, programs, organizations, sports, and activities that make Mesa such a wonderful place!
Tuesday, January 15, from 5:00 - 6:00 pm and 6:15 - 7:15 pm
Thursday, January 17, from 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Feeder Concerts
As a feeder, Mr. VanAlphen and Ms. Browning collaborated with their elementary and high school counterparts to hold a concert for 3rd through 12th graders. There is a concert for band, orchestra, and choir. All of these concerts have been held in the last two weeks.
These events showcase the work of our students and also their progression from elementary to the high school level. It is amazing to hear students at the elementary barely able to play, Mary Had a Little Lamb all the way up to the high school where they play Mozart. If you have not had the chance to attend, I would highly recommend it for next year. Please check out the pictures below!!!
Patriotic Celebration
Food Drive
Thank you to everyone who helped support the NJHS food drive over the last few weeks. With your help, Mesa will be donating 1659 items to the Douglas/Elbert Task Force over break. This is our highest total from this event in the last three years, and we couldn't have done it without everyones support. Thank you again!
Mesa's Career Day
Hello Mesa families,
Students are curious what you do for a living. Mesa's Career Day will be the morning of Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019 (7-11:00AM) and we need presenters--like you!
Career Day provides students the opportunity to learn about different careers from the professionals in their community--themselves. Presenters (like you) will introduce groups of students to their professions, in five 39 minute presentations, from 7-11am (see attachment for details). We will manage the students, assist you with preparation, and provide lunch--we just need you engage Mesa students with your profession. Are you interested?
If you have any questions, or if you are interested in participating, please contact Jennifer Welcom, jwelcom@dcsdk12.org or 303-387-4772. We'd love hear what you do!
Thank you Mesa families!
