Important Weekend Updates
The Fulton County Spelling Bee is still on for tomorrow at Heards Ferry ES. Good Luck Rohan!
Back to School Monday! YAY!!!
Wow! What a week right? I miss our children so much and can’t wait to see them on Monday!
I often reflect on what my most important job as principal (I wear many hats) and undoubtedly it is your child’s safety. I know that it was an inconvenience for most families to not have school all week, but everyone was safe…and that is the most important!
Many of you are wondering what comes next after the wintry weather finally leaves us. Next week FCS will announce its strategy for making up instructional time. It will be a combination of traditional & innovative methods. Stay tuned to the FCS website and social media for updates.
So we don’t put anyone in harm’s way of missing any more school, please wash your child’s jackets, backpacks, shoes, etc. and help all of us fight off the flu. You can also wipe down their lunch boxes, binders, etc with Clorox or Lysol wipes. Help keep colds and flu out of school!
Thank you all for your understanding and compassion! Again, I can’t wait to get kids in this building on Monday and start learning again!

Principal

WASH YOUR HANDS!
Due to the increase of flu that we are seeing in GA and in some of our schools – here is a link to the CDC hand washing videos that you may share with your students and staff:
Remember hand washing is the number one defense in illness prevention.
Gifted Education Month
Governor Deal has issued a proclamation that January 2018 is Gifted Education Month in Georgia. The proclamation emphasizes the importance of developing the potential of Georgia’s children in the areas of academics, creativity, leadership, and fine arts. It recognizes that our teachers and educational leaders work together with our community to provide the key learning experiences that engage and inspire our students. Finally, it calls for us to recognize the unique learning needs of gifted and talented students and advocate for rigorous educational programming to meet these advanced learning needs. The proclamation can be viewed at
