Students completed a powerpoint presentation this week, discussing the character traits of one of the main characters from To Kill a Mockingbird. This week we will read chapters 6-8, and focus on the themes of inequality, growth, and justice. Students will complete a short writing assignment towards the end of the week.

U.S. History

This week in U.S. History we finished our exploration of the 3 branches of government and the seperation of powers. We completed a debate over which branch of government is the most important as well as competed to answer higher level questions in our Cutthroat History competition.

As we have finished our American government unit, we will move on to the first few years of our young republic. Studying important creators of our country such as George Washington Thomas Jefferson Sacagawea, and Lewis and Clark.

We're on the home stretch of Unit 1! We finished this past week with a quiz over writing equations from graphs, point and slope, two points, and word problems.

The tentative schedule for this coming week is:

Monday--No School

Tuesday--Solving Inequalities reivew (homework assigned)

Wednesday--Writing Inequalities

Thursday--Solving Inequalities in Real Life

Friday--Unit 1 Quiz 7 (last quiz of this unit before the unit test) (homework due)

We will take our unit test the week before Thanksgiving Break.

This week we started the new unit and new INB. I am requiring the students to obtain a signature on each page as part of their grade by the end of the week. For example, we had 7 pages of work this week, so they should have 7 signatures. The grade is already in skyward. If they are missing signatures, it will be reflected as such. If they did not have a notebook, they received a "missing grade" and will lose points until it is turned in.

Next week we start Earth's Structure!
