Happy Valentines Day!

We are excited to celebrate the hard work and learning this winter by enjoying Valentine's day at Anderson. Each class has a party this Friday afternoon from 2:00 - 2:45 PM. Each grade level or class has approved volunteers that help facilitate these parties. If you are one of the pre-arranged and approved parent/guardian volunteers please arrive no earlier than 1:30 PM to get checked in. We also highly recommend that you allow your own child to stay at school until 3:00 PM. Trying to "check out" over 80 students early can bog down our office team. Parking is always available across the street at Tekakwitha Forest Preserve.

Thanks and Happy Valentines Day!

1st and 3rd Grade Music Performances

News From the Anderson PTO

Coloring Book and Crayon Drive

Breanna, a 3rd grader in Mrs. Reiff’s class, was born with a complex Congenital Heart Failure. She has had many heart surgeries, many hospitalizations, and long days at appointments. To help her through these times she would love to color. In honor of national CHD week, she would like to collect coloring books and crayons to give to the CHD heart warriors in the CICU at Lurie Children’s Hospital and all their outpatient cardiac centers for children. Please join us in supporting her effort by donating NEW coloring books and crayons. Donations can be sent to school February 10th-14th. The class that collects the most will win a cookie party. Click here to see the informational flyer.

District 303 Parent University Video Vault

Dear District 303 families,

When we asked parents to tell us what kind of programming they wanted as part of our Parent University series, many asked us to produce videos that can be watched in the comfort of their own homes and on their own schedules. In that same survey, parents requested information about how Project Lead the Way has enhanced student learning in classrooms from kindergarten through high school. As stories of underage vaping continue to permeate the news, parents are also looking for strategies they can use to begin conversations with their children about the dangers.

The District 303 Video Vault has two new videos – one about Project Lead the Way and the other one about vaping. We hope that the Project Lead the Way video gives you some questions to ask your child about the skills he or she has learned in PLTW. We also encourage you to watch the video about vaping with your children and talk to them about the health risks and dangers associated with it.
