BREAKFAST BAR/JUICE BOX DRIVE FOR D303 STUDENTS (SCHOOLS HELPING SCHOOLS)

Davis Richmond will be conducting a Breakfast Bar/Juice Box Drive during the month of January. These are to help the Saint Charles Mothers’ Club help those who do not get breakfast before coming to school. The Club wants to make sure all students start the day off right.

  • Please bring boxes of Breakfast Bars and/or Juice Boxes to school and leave them in the office.
  • We would prefer the bars to be whole grain and no NUTS or nut products.
  • We would also prefer the juice to be 100% juice.

Thank you for helping the Saint Charles Mothers’ Club help those in need.

The Saint Charles Mothers’ club is a non-profit philanthropic and social organization serving the Fox Valley communities since 1924. If you are interested in learning more or joining in our efforts, go to www.stcmothersclub@gmail.com for more information.

We’re almost there, however, we still need at least 20% in order to receive a score to help us improve and to celebrate what we are doing great. HEART ADVENTURE

The Heart Adventure Obstacle Course arrived at Davis Primary this week. Students moved through the Heart Adventure Challenge Obstacle Course pretending to be a blood cell moving through the body learning the correct flow of blood in the heart. Students learned that their heart is a pump that has 4 chambers and 4 valves. The red side of the heart has oxygen (energy) and the blue side (less energy/waste) carbon dioxide. Blood travels throughout the body in vessels, which the heart pumps to all other body parts called the Circulatory System.

Kindergarteners tried to find their heart by holding their chest. 1st and 2nd grades find their heart rate by checking for their pulse in neck or wrist. Pulse sticks and watch heart monitors are used to check their heart rate during exercise. Students are excited to learn about their hearts and how to keep them healthy and strong!!!
