Say Goodbye to the H Drive
Computers, H Drives, and Google - Oh My!
With 1:1 quickly approaching, the biggest question is what will happen to the students' assignments. Please start helping your students move work from their H Drive to the Google Drive. No, students do not have to use Google Docs. They can simply use Google Drive as their Cloud Drive. Students can save and open Word Documents in Google Drive by right clicking on the document and selecting Microsoft Word instead of Google Docs. I am available to come to your classes to help with the transition.
You and Your MacBook Air
The MacBook Air laptops are light as air because they do not have a CD Drive. The more things that move in computers, the more problems you will have. So the good people at Apple decided to create laptops with no CD Drive - so less problems. (insert laugh here) Start moving your work, pictures, lesson plans, clip art to your Google Drive. You do not have to transform your Microsoft Office files into Google files. It can simply act as your Hard Drive in the Clouds. I will come work with you during your planning periods to help you with the transition. You have 10 TERABYTES of space. Must personal Google accounts only have 30 GIGABYTES. There is plenty of space for everything.
Yes, Google Drive works best in Chrome. You can download Google Drive to your desktop to work just like your Hard Drive.
If you have any questions or need help conquering Google, please let me know.
