6/13 1/2 DAY - Dismissal at 11am (Last Day of School)

Carter's STEM class visited Wayne State University's third annual STEM Day on March 12. The focus was on science, technology, engineering and math. During the field trip, sixth through ninth grade students participated in interactive sessions covering a range of STEM studies and career opportunities. Below are a few videos of activities the students enjoyed that day. In the videos, live action people were inserted into a recorded video of a roller coaster and swimming with sharks.

Congratulations to the 2019 District Writing Contest winners, pictured below with Ms. Hendry, Ms. Russell and Ms. Augustin. What a wonderful representation of Carter.

Mrs Cherry's eighth grade ELA students took part in a "Marshmallow Challenge". Students worked collaboratively to build the highest free-standing structure using only 20 noodles,

1 yard of tape, 1 yard of string and a marshmallow. The highest structure was 36.5 inches tall! Great job eighth graders!!!!!

Art Teacher, Julia Greenblatt, was recently awarded an art equipment and supplies grant from Michigan Youth Arts and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. The money received from this grant will be used to purchase supplies for art students to make metal jewelry. Ms. Greenblatt is honored to receive this grant! We look forward to posting photos of the jewelry once it has been completed.
