ART ROOM DONATIONS

ART ROOM GRANT RECEIVED FOR CARTER MIDDLE SCHOOL

Art Teacher, Julia Greenblatt, was recently awarded an art equipment and supplies grant from Michigan Youth Arts and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. The money received from this grant will be used to purchase supplies for art students to make metal jewelry. Ms. Greenblatt is honored to receive this grant! We look forward to posting photos of the jewelry once it has been completed.

MOBILE DENTIST

GREAT NEWS! Our school has partnered with Smie Programs . . . the mobile dentists who offer in-school dental care. The links below provide you with the website for application, as well as the brochure and program highlights. Dental care is usually no cost to you. All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and MIChild. A low cost self--pay option is available for those without insurance. The mobile dentist will be at Carter on January 24!!!!!!!! MACOMB DIVERSITY SUMMIT

On Tuesday, November 27, a group of Carter students, along with teacher Jessica Shammami and counselor Lisa Stabile, attended the Macomb Diversity Summit sponsored by the Skillman Foundation. The Summit's objective is to facilitate productive dialogue about race, diversity and culture. It is designed to provide a safe and constructive forum for student discussion and to enlist youth leaders in promoting and embracing multiculturalism and inclusiveness. Pictured below are the attendees of the Summit.

HELPING HANDS

Pictured below are some of the "helping hands" purchased by Carter students during lunch periods to help less fortunate families in the Carter community. Students take pride in being a part of good deeds, particularly during the holiday season.

Kindergarten and Early Childhood Education Information Meeting

For parents of children who will be entering Kindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten, Preschool, World of Fours, Early Childhood Special Education or Project Find in September, 2019 - at the Warren Consolidated Schools' Performing Arts Center at 6:00 p.m. ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2019.

PARENT PORTAL

  • Ability to view student grades, attendance, etc., using PowerSchool from the WCS website: http://wcskids.net.
  • IF YOU ARE A NEW USER: Go to the ‘Parents/ Students’ section, then click on the ‘Parent Portal’ link. Here you can “activate” the portal. You will need your child’s student ID number, birth date, address, your name, your email, and agree to the terms of the site.
  • Once submitted, within a few minutes you will receive a user name and password. With that information you can access Parent Portal.
  • You DO NOT need to reactivate your parent portal password each school year.
  • Your prior password will remain in effect while your student is in attendance in a WCS school.

FOOD SERVICES

  • Free and Reduced Meal Application forms can be completed online at the following website: www.lunchapp.com. Parents are encouraged to use the online process in order to expedite processing time.
  • Pre-payments can be made to your student’s account. This school year a minimum pre-payment of $20 will be required. WCS offers to you, FREE OF CHARGE, a pre-payment plan using your Visa or Master Card. To set up an account, please go online to: www.sendmoneytoschool.com
