We are your entertainers!

Who are they really?

An actor is a person who perform in theater, movies, television, etc. especially professionally.

Schooling for Actress/Actors

There is no acting license if you want to be an actor. There is schooling for actors/actress that is needed. One actress explains that she got a BFA in drama at an acting school that is really popular. She also explained that a degree can help you "move through your career".

What actress' do to get ready to perform.

Critical Thinking

When you are an actor, then you don't want to show your critical thinking. One time that you really use your critical thinking is for prep work for a play or film (something like that). To be a great actor, then you need to think a lot about all kinds of stuff. Not just what your costume is going to be but, who you character is. If you have a question and you can figure out the answer quikly, then your not critically thinking.

You need to be creative with your character. Your costume? Why not just fix up that dress? Things you see around your house can also be used for props. To be your character you need to be creative with that too. You want to be a good actor? Be creative.

You use communication all the time when you are an actor. An actress had said," It seems wiers but silence is golden and knowing when the appropriate time to speal is crucial to keeping a job or getting more work."

When you are doing a stage play then you need to collaborate with the director. Ask questions. Talk about who your character is. Ask what it needs. When you do filming, you need to talk about something that you don't like or that feels wrong to you. Always collaborate!

What your character needs

- Don't play the character be the character.

- Your character needs emotion. You are not an actor/actress if you don't have emotion to go with your character.

- Never give up and always follow your dreams.
