Thesis

From 1946 to December 15, 2015 , former president George W. Bush has done major achievements such as have the biggest tax cut of any president, stop any terrorist attacks after September 11, 2001, and was able to stop another depression from happening.

Biggest Tax Cut

Bush found out and set forth the idea that keeping your own money leads to economic growth. After September 11, 2001, people and businesses were afraid to put their own money in investing but after Bush put forth a tax release people were given smaller amounts of taxes as well as encouraged to reinvesting. The Tax Reconciliation Act signed by George W. Bush allowed for reduced tax rates, better education spending, double child tax, and reduce the marriage penalty. Overall tax cuts totaled up to a 1.7 trillion dollars through 2008. (1)

Stop any terrorist attacks after September 11, 2001

After the incident of September 11, 2001 , president George W. Bush signed the Homeland Security Act in which was implemented to stop terrorism. The Homeland Security Act was signed in 2002, few months after 9/11.(4) The Homeland Security Act defended America by increasing immigrant controls, analyzing terrorist threats, and talking with local authorities to report any suspicions. By implementing this act, all of America never saw another day of 9/11. (3)

Stopped a second Depression

A second depression was happening at the time Bush was in presidency. China was paying the United States money but increased the amount of dept that the Us owns them. The money was used to supply banks and in loans, but when house values went down all the invested money in loans made banks go bankrupt which seemed as the beginning of the depression. To prevent this Bush convinced congress to give out 700 Billion dollars to major banking companies. By doing this the Bush Administration was able to prevent another Depression and just before the end of George's second Term. (2)

Conclusion

From 1946 to December 15, 2015, Former President George W. Bush has done major achievements for a better America such as making a huge tax cut, signing the Homeland Security Act, stopping a second depression and from all those reasons, George W. Bush should be placed in the Hall of Fame.
