FADING BEAUTY
Endangered Species in The United States
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
The United States, once populated by beautiful creatures, has been losing its biodiversity with time. In the present, the animal and plant habitats have been dramatically decreasing to give way to human population. Some species are extremely endangered while others are being threatened.
Guaiacum Sanctum (Holywood)
This beautiful plant native to Florida has been decreasing its numbers mainly due to ecosystem degradation. This plant provides either single or clusters of small five-petal flowers about a centimeter big with a bright blue color. It grows as a relatively small tree with distinctively brown green wood.
Panthera Onca (Jaguar)
With a height of about 75 cm and a body length of 150-180 cm plus a tail of about 70-90 cm, the jaguar is the largest cat of America weighing from 68-136 kg. With strong bodies and powerful jaws, the jaguar was built for power not speed but it can run when necessary. It spends the majority of the time up in the trees for safety but hunt on the ground. The jaguar is constantly hunted by its beautiful fur used for fashion.
Lithobates Subaquavocalis (Ramsey Canyon Leopard Frog)
This is a critically endangered species native of the United States and possibly Mexico. It's numbers have bee decreasing due to the competition for food and living spaces with bullfrogs and different types of fish. As well as the drying of some of its habitats. With signature eyes on the head it has been recognized by biologists as one of the rarest species on earth.
TAKE CARE OF BIODIVERSITY
In order to keep these beautiful creatures safe or try to increase their numbers it is necessary to spread the word and avoid them instead of hunt them and if you ever come across them, do not disturb them.
