World Autism Month
Every April is World Autism Month, and we have been celebrating that here at Davis! Many thanks to Yadira Hobbs for providing this balloon banner to raise awareness!!
Paw Parties!
Our Davis tigers have been doing a great job of following our 3 rules; Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. Classes have been earning “Paws” for following expectations and when they earn 10 they celebrate with a paw party. The party is a simple way to reinforce and praise students for showing their Davis Best. Our students are very creative in their celebrations. Lately, we had beach day, camping day, blanket fort day, PJ day, and new names day. Way to go Tigers!
Calling all 2nd grade musicians!
Over the next few weeks, every current 2nd grader will get the chance to hear a performance by members of the Richmond School orchestra AND try each of the instruments offered in our orchestra program: Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass. Nearly 1,000 children across D303 elementary schools are involved in our elementary orchestra program!
If your child is interested in joining us, please mark your calendar for our NEW Orchestra Parent Information meeting! At the virtual meeting, you will meet your orchestra director, learn details about the program, how to register, and how to rent an instrument. Each meeting will present the same information, so please join us when you can. We look forward to meeting with you. Please join us for one of these meetings:

Mini Monsters Camp
Thank you to the Chicago Bears for hosting a Mini Monsters Camp at Richmond. The kids had such a blast learning about healthy eating, physical activity and proper hydration!
A HUGE thank you to all of our parent volunteers! Thank you for spending your day with us!
Fifth Grade Human Growth and Development
Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
Your child recently participated in a virtual presentation of the Fifth Grade Human Growth and
Development program. Each year, students have many questions regarding the topics covered in the presentation, as well as some questions about topics that were not included. At the end of the presentation, students were given the opportunity to submit a question through a Google form.
The D303 nurses have reviewed these questions and provided answers to the most frequently asked questions. These FAQs have been sorted by gender to facilitate discussion with your child. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to review these documents and to talk to your son or daughter about the changes that accompany puberty.
