Alliances
So many people had alliances with each other that they ended up fighting with each other. If one country was attacked then the others would be forced to go into war.
Nationalism
Each country wanted its own dominance and power. Nationalism means pride in ones country.
Imperialism
Imperialism means the power of ones country. In Africa & Asia they fought to get their natural resources, because they didn't have the technology to get to it so we wanted to come over and get the resouce.
Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand
They were protesting Austria Hungary's control over Serbian regions of Europe.
