Chapman Update
Good Afternoon Chapman Families!
This is the time of year that staff and parents are starting to think about the 2019-2020 school year and the class assignment procedures. In May, the process will begin to place students for the 2019-2020 school year. The student placement process is a team effort done with great care. Placement decisions are based upon the consideration of all educational factors with academic and social being the primary determinant. Factors used in developing each diverse classroom includes a balance in several areas: racial/ethnic, gender, academic achievement levels, learning styles, instructional levels, discipline issues, separation of students who interfere with each other’s progress, and special education certification. The best interest of every student is always kept in mind as we work for appropriate placements. We welcome any information about your child that you, as parents, may wish to share that will help us in this placement process. If you would like to share something with us about your child, you may. Please do not request an individual teacher or use teachers’ names, but rather give us additional information that will help us in selecting the right classroom for your child. Please be assured that with or without information from parents, we will review each student’s needs individually and select the classroom in which we believe he/she will learn best. Parents will be notified of student class assignments with the final report card. There will be grade level supply lists posted on Chapman’s website before the end of the school year and also sent home with the final report card this year so families can have access to them throughout the summer. Please have all forms turned into the office or your current classroom teacher by April 26, 2019.
The form is attached below or you can pick one up in the office.

Carpool: Please be patient and pull as far forward as possible in the carpool line. BOTH doors are open for students to enter the building. Please remember for your safety and the safety of the students to please only get out on the curb side of the car. If you have to get out of the car for any reason please park in the parking lot to do so. Please stay in line in carpool and do not cut around. This is for the safety of the families that are crossing the carpool lane. I appreciate all the great work and how smoothly the morning drop off procedures are going! Well done!
