How My Educational Journey Begins!
I attended Miles College and received a B.S. degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Ed. I also received a Master’s Degree from the University of Montevallo in Early Childhood Education with the focus on Literacy.
I have been an educator for 15 years, the first six years of my teaching career I had the opportunity to teach in Birmingham City Schools System, at Hudson Elementary teaching third grade (three years) and first grade (three years).
Now, I have the awesome opportunity to be a part of Fairfield City Schools System for the past nine years. During the first seven years here at Robinson Elementary I taught first grade, currently now I am teaching Kindergarten.
My Philosophy of Education
I have always loved how the minds of children operated, their learning process can and will be different from an adult. Children grasp knowledge from all kinds of avenues. A child’s depth of learning can be everlasting, if they are allowed to explore. I believe that all children can be taught, whether they learn the art of the shoe laces. Children are an absorbing sponge, they can learn anything. They just need someone to love and care enough about them. We as educators are that belief system other than their parent.
