BBE Weekly Update
Aug 17 - 21
Message from the Principal
We are learning a lot more about canvas, and we hope that you are too. Remember to complete the student assignments for math, reading, science, and social studies. These assignments are called asynchronous activities. Students will complete them through various apps like seesaw, Desmos, Think Through Math, and EdLearning. These asynchronous assignments, that are submitted by the student, will impact their attendance and grades. Second grade, Third grade, and Fourth grade will be be taking grades. For the fall semester, Kinder and 1st grade will have regular parent conference to update the parents on their child's progress. Click here for the District's Grading guidelines.
Our music, art, and PE canvas courses should be showing on your child's dashboard. Music and art are intended for one activity per week. For PE, we are asking a minimum of 3 activities for the week.

Meet our Art Teacher: Mrs. Barker
Mrs. Barker loves Art! She enjoys creating her own artwork, visiting art galleries, and teaching art to children. Not only does she take pleasure in sharing her knowledge about art, she wants her students to experience art and understand how much it affects their lives. She loves building self-esteem in her students and challenging them to find their inner artist.
Mrs. Barker began her journey with art over 25 years ago. She would spend every summer with her grandmother who was herself an amazing artist. Her grandmother helped nurture her imagination, curiosity, and love of art. Mrs. Barker strives to do the same with all of her students and children.
Mrs. Barker graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She completed her college internship at the UTSA Art Gallery and Joan Grona Gallery in Downtown San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Barker moved to Mullin, Texas with her husband, Kody, in 2012. She worked for Mullin ISD as their Director of PEIMS for seven years. In 2019, she received her Early Childhood through Grade Six Teaching Certification and began her teaching career at Magnolia ISD. This year will be Mrs. Barker’s second year teaching art.
In her free time she likes to travel, visit artsy shops, and spend time with family and friends. She and her husband have two amazing children who both attend Bear Branch Elementary. Her daughter, Lovelynn, is in the third grade and her son, Wyatt, is in Pre-K.
