August 5, 2019 - Back to School Night Information
Welcome from Mrs. Donnell
Dear CCS Families,
Can you believe that school is almost upon us? What happened to our summer break? I want to welcome our students, families and staff back to CCS for the 2019-2020 school year.
CCS has had some wonderful enrichment opportunities this summer, but we really can’t wait to get each of you back in the classroom every day. We hope you enjoyed the Tuck-in Tuesday bedtime stories, our Wednesday activities and your Mid-Summer Hang Out.
Your teachers have been working hard all summer to create classrooms and lessons that will help “train” you to learn about Christ and His love for you. We look forward to seeing all of you at Back to School night on August 5th from 5:30-7:00pm. You will be able to meet your student’s teachers, bring in their supplies and get your questions answered. Don’t forget to fill out the enclosed packet of student information and turn it in on Back to School Night in the gym for a gift.
Elementary – 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Middle/High – 8:00 am to 3:15 pm
Exciting things are happening at CCS and this year our theme is “iTrain”.
“Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather,
train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value,
but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the
present life and the life to come.” I Timothy 4:7-8
As we begin this school year, I want each of us to be ready to “train” for whatever God has in store for all of us at CCS. May God bless this school, its staff, its students and its families as we press forward in presenting God’s Word and teaching CCS students the biblical perspective of the world.
Thank you all for continuing to allow me to be a part of such an exciting ministry!
Where to park:
When you arrive, please park on the west side of the building. There will be flags directing you to the main school doors. Upon entering, please drop off your reams of paper and administration office supplies outside the Teacher Resource room in the Elementary Hallway. There will be smiling CCS students with carts ready to help you! Take your additional school supplies to your student’s classroom/homeroom/locker (see info by grade below). CCS staff will be ready to direct you!
These are the same forms that were mailed home to you in your "Back to School" packet.
Middle School (6th-8th):
Please drop off your office supplies, then head to the gym to hand-in your school paperwork, receive your schedule and locker number. Be sure to visit each table there for important information and sign-up sheets including school lunches, athletics, student activities and order your student’s complimentary theme t-shirt at the PTF table. After you're finished, head to the fellowship hall to find your locker and drop off supplies as directed by teachers.
High School (9th-12th):
PARENT TEACHER FELLOWSHIP TABLE
Stop by the PTF table to learn about the ministry opportunities that are available.
Order your school themed t-shirt.
Students receive a free school themed t-shirt - orders must be placed at the PTF table.
Parents may purchase school themed t-shirts. Cost is $10 each. Place your order, with payment, for a school themed t-shirt at the P.T.F. table. These are great for family members to wear on field trips and school events.
All orders (student & family) must be placed by Friday, August 9th. No orders will be taken after this date.
What is Parent Teacher Fellowship?
P.T.F. supports our school and teachers in order to enrich the children's education, providing parents with the opportunity to participate in daily school life as well as special events and projects that contribute to the growth and success of our school. Participation in the P.T.F. is an easy way to support our school.
CRUSADERS ATHLETIC TABLE
Drop by the Athletic table to meet Coach Roth and Mr. Bond. You'll have an opportunity to learn about the sports offered this year and sign up. You will also be able to sign up for EventLink, the app that let's you stay informed about game dates, practices and cancellations.
MINI CHEER TABLE
You can download the letter and form below.
Heading back to school is an exciting time of year for students. As students go back to school, it is important that they eat healthy, stay active, and are up to date on their immunizations. The Bartholomew County Health Department would like to help you make sure your child is up to date. Call 812-379-1555 option 1 to check immunization status and make an appointment. Publicly funded program for those uninsured and underinsured to receive immunizations at no charge. Most insurances also accepted. Click here to view the Required & Recommended School Immunizations.

We look forward to getting to know you!

Back to School Parent Prayer Meeting - All Invited
CCS invites all student family members to join us for our Back to School Prayer Meeting, Tuesday, August 6th at 8:15am. Our desire is to cover our students, teachers, staff and families in prayer for the 2019-20 school year.
Please join us on the CCS playground (stage if there is inclement weather) after dropping off your students. Our time will begin with short introductions and instructions. No one will be required to pray out loud or in front of others. People are invited to pray in groups or find a quiet place to pray alone. The key is to ask for God's blessing, will and provision for the upcoming school year. We hope you can join us as we begin this year as a CCS family before the Lord
