Tiger Family Newsletter Feb 2024
All the important deets to stay in the know!
A Note From Mrs. Gold
May It Be of Benefit
Hello Tiger Families,
It's February- the month of love and kindness. Here at Shasta Meadows, we focus on building kind, supportive relationships among all students, and we purposefully avoid romance in order to align with the developmental levels of students in TK-5th grades. Please keep school-exchanged valentine cards and gifts in the "love for all" category and keep any gifts that are personal or designed for a "special relationship" for exchange, outside of school. Our Leadership students and their advisor, Mrs. Mezenski, are selling Kindness Grams for the price of 50 cents a piece. Cards include an encouraging, kind saying and a friendship bracelet. See Mrs. M's monthly newsletter below for a link to the flyer with more details.
Finally, this time of year is also when our school and district actively seek your feedback. HERE is the link to the parent survey. It is fairly short (just 20 questions). This survey is open now until 2/16/24. I will remind you all again in our weekly calls between now and when it closes. We typically hear from only a few parents out of the hundreds in our school. I would love to get over 100 back this year. Your thoughtful, honest feedback and ideas for improvement really do help guide our school's and district's actions.
With kindness and gratitude,
Mrs. Gold

February 6-March 5th: Pre registration window for incoming TK & K students and siblings. Applications must be completed and payment received to be confirm enrollment. All applications and payments must be in by 4:00pm on March 5th. Late applications will be considered during the open registration window.
March 6th at 9am is the Open Registration window. Students going into 1st grade and up apply during this window. Programs will fill quickly so submitting applications promptly is best.

Tips and Tricks for Registration Success
1. Please read the Policy Pages all the way through. These pages include how our fees work, attendance requirements, homework and discipline policy etc. We have made significant changes so please look for updates!
2. Have your login credentials for parent portal AHEAD of time and do a test log in. If you do not know your log in credentials please connect with your student service clerk PRIOR to registration.
3. Have your most current pay stubs or first page of your 2023 1040 tax form ready and available for yourself and or your spouse/partner/significant other
4. Parent Portal works best on a laptop/computer or chromebook. Using your phone can make the process more difficult.
5. If you do not have access to proper technology please connect with your student services clerk for a paper application during your designated registration window or contact our office at 530-224-4223.
Parent Portal
As we make our way through the 23/24 school year, it's important that we are disseminating information to our parents in the most helpful and productive way. Some of the ways that we will send information home about what is happening is through email, call, text or newsletters.
It is extremely important as we send out the newsletter links or call home etc, that we have your working email and/or phone number. Particularly if there was an emergency and we need to reach you.
Please log into your Parent Portal and take a moment to review the emails, phone numbers and even who you have allowed to be called or be able to pick up your student when needed.
