October 2023
A Message From Mrs. Inman
RLP is the place to be! We have had an amazing start to the year! It has been such a pleasure visiting each classroom to see all of the amazing things our students are learning! By now, everyone is settling in and becoming more engaged in active learning in their classrooms. Now that October has arrived, temperatures are cooling down. Please remember that our students go outside year round, and now is the time to bring sweaters or light jackets for recess.
Also, just a reminder that children will be able to come in to school beginning at 7:45. Please have your child stay in your vehicle until staff open the door. If your child is a walker please plan accordingly to make sure they are not arriving too early. We have a staff member supervising and greeting students outside.
We are looking forward to a great October!
Jamie Inman
Principal

The Caring Counselor
Each month our school counselor, Mrs. Liz Brittnacher, has information she would like to share with our famillies. Please see the attachment for this month's information.
Parent Teacher Conferences
This year parent teacher conferences will be on the evenings of October 19 and October 24. You will have the option to come and meet with the teachers in person, virtually or via phone. When you sign up online, please indicate your preference. You will be receiving a letter from your child’s teacher providing you with a code and directions for sign up. If you have any trouble accessing the sign up page, please reach out to your child's teacher so we can get you scheduled. Last year we had 85% of RLP families attend conferences. We would love for our families to exceed that level of participation and support!
Halloween Costume Day
Students will be given the option to come to school dressed up in costumes, fun fall clothes or orange and black clothes on Tuesday, October 31st.
Please remember the following:
For our younger students, please remember to send a costume that they can be independent with when they are using the bathroom.
Children will not be allowed to bring toy (look-alike) weapons to school. If this is an accessory to your child's costume, please make sure that it stays home.
Masks will not be allowed. We need to be able to recognize your child's face.
Make sure students will be able to fit a jacket over their costume as students will still be going outside for recesses.
Pick Up Patrol
If you have not already done so, please make sure you log into Pick Up Patrol. The email does expire so you may need a new invite. Here are some helpful things to know when using Pick Up Patrol (PUP):
1. If you want to pick your child up before the end of the school day select Early Dismissal as the pick up option. This will then prompt you to select a pick up time as well as who will be picking up your student. This is the only way the office knows to have your student in the office ready for that time.
2. All changes to the end of the day plans must be entered before 2:30 pm. If you miss the deadline you will need to call the office.
3. If you would like to request additional car tags please let the school know.
4. Make sure if someone other than a parent or guardian is picking your child up that person is listed in PUP. We will not dismiss to anyone not listed. If someone does come for pick up that is not listed we will call parents/guardians for permission before dismissing the student to them.
5. Remember we do a staggered released, pick up students start getting released at 2:55, walkers at 3:03, and the bussers and 3:05.
If you have any questions or need help with Pick Up Patrol please call the school office or email Lynn at lklawiter@seymour.k12.wi.us.
Don't Forget the Doctor's Note!
If your child misses school or leaves school for a medical appointment don't forget to ask for a note from the provider for school. Your child's absence from school will be medically excused and the absence will not count against the total absences accumulated. We also need a note from a medical provider if you child has any type of restrictions that will require them to sit out of gym class or stay inside for recess. If you have any questions about this please reach out to the school office.

We 💗 Our Custodians!
While we think they deserve to be celebrated everyday, National Custodian Day is the day to celebrate our custodians and say thank you for everything they do! They are there every time we need something fixed, cleaned up, and always make sure our school is ready for us to learn. We appreciate them every day, but Monday, October 2nd is their day to shine!
