Principal's Corner

Hello Rosedale Families,

I wanted to say thank you to all the students and families for raising money for our annual Rosedale Run. Approximately $6000 was raised to go toward buying more Chromebooks for students. Also, a big thank you to the Rosedale Parent Group as well as any other parents that volunteered to help out with this fund raising activity.

Sincerely,

Mike Strande

Classroom Feature: Music

The upper grades have been learning the notes on the staff and connecting music to other subjects areas, such as art and literature. The lower grades are demonstrating the form (pattern) of classical pieces by performing contrasting movements to various sections.

The Spring Concert was a huge success, and now we are looking forward to our Variety Show, “Seize the Day” on June 4th. Look for details soon!

Parent Tips

Join us at Hillsboro’s Latino Cultural Festival and march with Rosedale Families in the parade. Meet at the Washington County Courthouse lawn at 11:30 am on May 19th. Look for the Rosedale School banner.

Started in 2004, the annual Latino Cultural Festival was originally designed to help connect the Latino business community with other local businesses. It has now developed in to a very proud tradition, in which we celebrate the diversity in Hillsboro. Featuring Latino art, food, entertainment and so much more, the Latino Cultural festival offers a chance for our community to welcome and embrace the traditions of the Latino Community. The festival is a free community event open to anyone interested in attending.

Our last two Parent Group meetings this year are on Tuesday May 14th and Tuesday June 11th at 7pm in the Library. We are still looking for at least one more volunteer to fill a vacant board position.

Staff appreciation week is May 6-10. There will be a table set up for students to make thank you cards for the staff all week. We also have a daily treat planned for our Rosedale staff ending with a potluck lunch on the 10th.

The buy one get one free book fair is coming up the week of May 20-24

Our last restaurant night of the year is scheduled for Tuesday May 21 at Red Robin.

More yearbook photos are needed. The yearbook committee is looking for either proud or funny moments of your kids from this year to be sent in.
