Principal's News
Another week of Remote Learning for our students as we navigate Lockdown 7.0. Thank you to families who have required onsite supervision for the provision of permits and onsite attendance forms to assist us to meet the requirements on schools. We know that more paperwork is not what most need but your support and promptness to provide these is appreciated very much.
Remote Learning is a time that for some of our students, they thrive! For others, it's a struggle! When we are at school, each student is present in the same environment. When we are in remote learning there are different variables for every child in the class. Availability of parental support, the number of children in the home all needing help, devices and internet connection......and that is just the start of it.
As a college we understand and appreciate this. We understand and encourage each family to do what they can. If some of the learning program for your child doesn't happen on a day, please do not let it worry you. Our children will remember this time in their lives, not because of learning that may be out of the usual sequence. They will remember this time and the experiences they have. They will remember the feeling of being at home. They will remember making the connections with family and friends that we can manage in a virtual space. They will remember the family activities that you do to pass the lockdown weekends.
We know that it is not possible for every family to have an adult sitting with their child/ren each day. We know that when learning can happen in your home it may not be able to happen in another's home. Our teachers are providing as many varied learning opportunities as we can to support our families and our students to be able to engage in learning and participate when it works for them. Please reach out if we can support you in anyway.
I hope that this weekend, as we face another time at home under these restrictions that you and your family can have fun making memories together. From the backyard campfire to the family bike rides, from cooking new recipes to crafting fun, enjoy the time together.
Blessings
