Happy Friday! Brrrrrr! It was certainly a cold week for us! It’s hard to believe we are headed into the last week before Winter Break. A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone for making this such a welcoming place to be! Rachael and I are so grateful to be part of this fantastic community. Lenski is so special! As we head into our last week together, we’d like to invite our SuperStars to have fun with a Spirit Week!
Monday: Flaunt your Flannel Day!
Tuesday: Colorado/Team Wear Day!
Wednesday: Ugly/Festive Sweater Day!
Thursday: PJ Day!
Thank you for all you do to support your Super Star. We are grateful for you!
With Lenski Love,
Jessica
From the Office
Winter is here and we’d like to remind everyone about morning drop off procedures and winter weather reminders.
Morning Car Rider Drop-Off
1. Please pull all the way forward in the drop-off lane
2. Parents please stay in your car
3. Please have your student exit on the sidewalk side of the car
4. Please do not pull out and around the car in front of you
5. Please exit via RIGHT TURN ONLY
6. No U-Turns! They are illegal and unsafe!
If your student needs assistance of any kind, there is plenty of parking in front of the school on Fairview, Eudora, and Dexter.
Walking to School in Winter Weather
The walkways to the school including the bridge coming from Heritage Village can be snowpacked and icy. The bridge and some of the sidewalks are maintained by South Suburban and may not be shoveled prior to the start of the school day so please wear appropriate footwear and use caution.
Late Arrivals/Attendance
Attendance will be recorded as quickly as possible after the 7:50 am bell. Please ensure your student arrives at school on time. Students may enter the building beginning at 7:35 am.
Winter Apparel
Please ensure your student is dressed appropriately for colder weather including coats, hats, and gloves. Lost and Found fills up quickly! If labeled properly, we’ll do our best to return lost items.
Thank you so much for your support!
5th Grade Parent Night
From the Counselor
This week in community circles students are sharing about thoughtful actions that they have done for others to show their generosity. The students are sharing wonderful actions! We have so many amazing and kind kids at Lenski!
Small Counseling Groups at Lenski:
As counselors we offer small groups to support the social and emotional needs of the students. We are starting new groups in January. If you think your child would benefit from one of these small groups, please reach out to Shannon Ritchey (sritchey@lps.k12.co.us) or Amy Nixon (anixon@lps.k12.co.us). Some of the groups we offer are:
Family Changes (Divorce, Separation) - for students going through any type of change to the family structure, past or present
Emotion Regulation / Coping Skills - for students with difficulty handling strong emotions of any kind
Grief/Loss - for students who have experienced a death or loss, currently or in the past
