What you really need to know
Thank you for your support across the board for our first early release day. I have never before received all checklists in advance of the day so I can sleep the night before!! You rocked it. As a reward you get the next early release day off. Grades 1-5 will have early release on 10/26, but we will have NO AM Kindergarten/NO PM KASE due to our first round of conferences.
And, in case you didn't get the first three emails, our December conference date has been changed by the central administration office. Morning Kindergarten WILL BE IN SESSION on December 7 but wiLL NOT BE IN SESSION on December 13. December 13 will be our third and last Fall conference day. Thanks to everyone who has already signed up. Please visit our bloomz calendar if you still need to reserve an appointment.
October book orders are due on Friday, 10/6. Please visit https://clubs.scholastic.com to order and view selections from any flyer. You will need our class code HVXFH, to create an account for your first order.

All in a days work...
- We met our third grade reading buddies! They came to our classroom to read with us and we also had some time to draw together. We will see them on alternating Wednesdays.
- We did lots of DOT themed activities in honor of dot day! We read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and learned the importance of believing in ourselves and having teachers who believe in us too! We did lots of collaborative dot art and created a dot mural for our classroom. We also learned a cooperative "fill the dot with dots" math game.
- Mrs. Martell, our technology teacher, visited the room with an iPad cart. We used the Rocket Paint drawing app to create more dot art. Check out our Rocket Paint art here.
- We read about Elmer the Elephant and learned about the importance of individuality.
- Our favorite movement activity of the week was "Baby Shark". We also learned a new game at morning meeting called ZAP! It takes a lot of attentive listening to know when your turn is coming and we are all practicing good sportsmanship because there is only one student left standing at the end of the game!
- In reading, we are learning to recognize color words and to point to each word on the page as we read it aloud.

Count the whales and choose a domino that comes before or after (tip: only the near half of the domino needs to match, not the total number of whales on the whole domino):
