Tip #1 Call ahead and see about an Interview
If your subject is not someone you know personally, state your name and publication or school. Explain the topic and the purpose of your article or paper. If the person accepts, set a date and time for the interview, allowing her/him to choose the location.
Tip #2 Research the person you are going to interview
try to get as much information about them as you can like there background, personal and professional history and any other biographic and any other things that you can find about them.
Tip #3 Write down the questions that your going to ask
add the little things to ask them about when you were looking into there background.
Tip #4 Start the interview by introducing yourself and making a general observation
also be relaxed and be friendly
Tip #5 Ask for permission to record the session
its is going to help you out in the end for making a choice
tip #6 Ask questions and write down what they say
avoid asking yes or no questions, try to keep it moving at a good pace.
tip #7 If its on the phone keep it about 10 mins long
ask them what you want to know with in that 10 mins and keep them short to.
tip #8 Pay attention to how they act and how they answer your questions
if there are acting weird to your questions they might be hiding something from you
