Senior Baby Pictures - Due March 16

Once Upon a Mattress

Join us for this musical version of The Princess and the Pea. Performances March 9, 10, 11 at 7:00pm and March 12 at 2pm. Purchase tickets here and enjoy the show!

Spring Break/Office Hours

Students do not have school on March 17 but the HS office will be open from 8am - 12pm. The office will be closed March 20-24 for Spring Break.

Donations Needed

Help for the Homeless items will be collected through March 3. Most urgent needs include laundry soap, kitchen size trash bags, shampoo, cleaning supplies, diapers, toilet tissue, and feminine care products. Financial donations can be made here.


Jakob Duquaine will be collecting paper products for needy families in the Fox Valley March 6-17. Items include toilet paper, paper towel, tissues, and feminine products. Items can be dropped off in front of the resource center or in the Commons before school March 6-17. If he collects 300 items students will have a school-wide out of dress code day!

Zephyrs in the Community

Our talented Zephyrs are making an impact on our community! The Fox Crossing Fire Department recognized Art teacher Melissa Sirstins and senior Teagan Miller (pictured here) for their work on a mural at the fire department and building community.

Forensics

Congratulations to the Forensics Team for placing FIRST in the small school division at the Neenah Invitational on Saturday. Special congratulations to Lainey Becker who placed first in Solo Humorous, Cat Genke & Mari Ladish who placed first in Group Interp, Tessa Rutchik who placed first in Novice Poetry, Ava Hoger who placed third in Varsity Poetry, Addison Moder who placed third in Storytelling, Elliott Reichenbacher who placed third in Novice Prose, and Daniel DuVernay who placed fourth in Oratory!

VEX Robotics

Congratulations to the Vex Robotics Club teams 1200Z (Lainey Becker, Ethon Moschea, Jonah DeWitt, Hunter Busse-Quandt) and 12000A (Charlie Cedergren, Alex Walsh, Nicholas DeBraal, Ethan Tines, Sam Foord, Daniel Duvernay, Nate Pable) for winning the tournament in Hilbert and qualifying for the State Championship March 10 - 11 at the Resch Center! The event is free and they would love your support.

Zephyrs Sports Update

Girls Basketball

The SMCHS Girls Basketball team received the 1st seed in their half of the WIAA Sectional. SMC hosted Auburndale Saturday night and won by the score of 77-56. WIAA Division 4 Girls Basketball Regional Champions! The Zephyrs will move on to the Sectional Semi-Final on Thursday, March 2nd at 7:00pm. They will play against Westfield High School at Ripon High School. We will be doing presale ticket sales at the High School office for the Girls Sectional Semi-Final game at Ripon High School. Please try to bring exact change or a check made out to SMCS for the total amount when purchasing presale tickets. Tickets are $7 for Students, Adults and Seniors. Tickets will also be available to purchase at Ripon High School the night of the game.

Boys Basketball

The SMCHS Boys Basketball team received the 1st seed in their half of the WIAA Sectional. SMC will host Manawa on Friday, March 3rd at 7:00pm in the WIAA Regional Semi-Final. WIAA Boys Basketball Division 4 Playoff Bracket



Powerlifting

Members of the SMCHS powerlifting team will be competing at the WHSPA State Powerlifting meet on March 4-5. Paul Kundert, Maria Marti, John Romnek, Gabby Ruback, Gavin Post, Ashton Post, Emiliano Romero, John Schultz and Sam Todd have all qualified for the State meet. WHSPA State Meet

WIAA sets the ticketing policy for WIAA playoffs. All Regional Tickets are $6 per Adult/Child. Conference passes will not be accepted. All students/parents/fans must purchase a ticket at the gate.

2023-24 SMCS Registration

Current SMCS families do not need to do anything to register for the 2023-2024 school year. Registration fees for the upcoming school year will be added to existing tuition accounts on March 1. If your family does not intend to return to St. Mary Catholic Schools for the 2023-2024 school year, please contact Chris Decker.

Emergency Notifications/School Closures

SMCS sends text messages related to school closure dates and other emergencies specific to our SMCS schools via SIMPLE TEXTING. To enroll your phone number, please text SMCS to (844) 947-5948. Zephyrfest 2023

You are invited to join us as we celebrate and support the St. Mary Catholic Schools community and what makes it great. Zephyrfest is our premier fundraiser for SMCS and will take place this year on Saturday, April 29 at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton. Ticket information is coming next month.

Youth Apprenticeships

Current sophomores and juniors considering Youth Apprenticeships for next year are encouraged to submit their applications today, March 1, to ensure they are viewed by the greatest number of employers. The application link can be found here.

Fox Valley Technical College scholarship applications are due March 10.

ACT Reminders

Parents of students taking the ACT test on Tuesday, March 7 received an email today with testing instructions.

Badger Precollege & Summer Music Programs

UW Madison offers Badger Precollege programs and Summer Music Clinics for students completing grades 9-12. Program registration closes April 30.

AP Fees

Spring semester AP course exam fees are being added to families’ accounts in March. AP exam fees for year-long courses were added to families’ accounts in January.

Bellin Summer Nursing Camps

Bellin College is accepting applications for their summer Nursing and Medical Imaging camps. Current sophomores and juniors may apply online at https://www.bellincollege.edu/admissions/visit/summer-camps/. Space is limited so apply early!

Marian University Learn While You Earn

Students in grades 9-12 are invited to attend VIRTUAL pre-college courses to learn more about specific careers while earning college credit. Cost is $50 per course; 1 credit earned per course (on a Marian, or other college, transcript only). Participants will receive a $500 scholarship to Marian for each course completed. University of Wisconsin System Updates

2023 UW Application Guidebook - Pre-order requests are being accepted now through April 28. The guidebook provides students with all the information needed to successfully apply to a UW System campus for Fall 2024.

Emma D. Boettiger Scholarships - Two academic scholarships will be awarded to students enrolling full time at a University of Wisconsin System institution starting Fall 2023. The award is $1000 per semester for four consecutive years. Preference will be given to applicants majoring in a health-related field and are due March 24.

Online Placement Testing registration for Summer and Fall 2023 students will begin in March.

NMU Preview Weekend

Northern Michigan University is hosting Wildcat Weekend March 17-18 for students to explore Marquette, Michigan, tour the campus and experience residence hall life. Register here.

K-12 Scholarships for Music/Art Lessons

The Les and Dar Stumpf Youth Arts Scholarship provides financial assistance to students interested in an art discipline. Applications are due April 1. Click here for details.
