Message from Kennington about Course Selection
We are going to begin course selections for the 2017-2018 school year soon.
The course guide is now available on the New Tech website under the Counseling tab HERE. Please begin looking through the course guide to see what we will be offering next year, and begin thinking about what you would like to take.
Below is a brief schedule for the next few weeks:
- 2/13-2/17 - Go into Science classes to hand out course selection worksheets and discuss the new course selection process (We will be using Home Access Center (HAC) this year).
- Juniors will be on the 13th, Sophomores on the 14th, and Freshmen on the 16th and 17th
- Learners should begin filling out their course selection worksheets based on their graduation needs, endorsement, desired classes, and what is available within the course guide
- 2/20-2/27 - Online system will open within HAC for learners to begin making their requests
- Complete your selection worksheet to assist with your online requests
- Learners will be given instructions for using HAC for course requests
- Requests are due online by 8am on 2/27
- Selection worksheet needs to be turned into Science Facilitator once your requests have been made online (no later than the 27th)
- 2/24 - If you have any 8th grade siblings/children interested in New Tech, then Legacy applications are due this day. Please go to the New Tech website under New Learners for the application.
- 2/27-3/10 - During these two weeks I will be meeting with each learner individually to confirm course requests, fill in any missing classes, and answer any questions that learners may have from the process.
Thank you for taking the time to read through the above information. If you have any questions throughout this process please do not hesitate to reach out.
