The Earth

Earth's Origin

The Earth was formed by a big cloud of dust and gas about 4.54 billion years ago. Comets and asteroids went all over the Earth, also at one point the Earth was called Snowball Earth because it was covered in snow and ice. The Earth is made of Oxygen, Silicon, Aluminum, Iron, Calcium, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium and other elements.

Earth's Structure

The Earth is made up of 4 layers; inner core, outer core, mantle, and the crust. In the mantle there is Magnesium, Iron, Aluminum, and Silicon. The mantle is liquid but floats like a thick liquid. In the outer core there is Iron, and Sulfur. In the inner core there is Iron which is solid.

Plate Tectonics

Plate tectonics are giant broken pieces of Earth's crust that are found in the Earths crust and upper mantle. Theres are three types of plate boundaries, convergent boundaries form mountains by both plates being pushed up. Divergent boundaries form rift zones and mid-ocean ridges by the plates separating. Transform boundaries causes Earthquakes by the plates sliding past each other. Earth is predicted that it is going to be another supercontinent, Pangaea Ultima.
