Scavenger Hunt
What's with all the Symbols in the Catholic Church?
The Catholic Faith is filled with Symbolism.
Symbolism is when there is a meaning to something other than what it is
For example when we have our birthday cakes:
The number of candles on the cake represents the number of years old we are.
But why do we use candles…why not toothpicks on our cake?
Because candles represent light and life
In the Church we use a lot of candles…representing life and Christ being our light.
Stop signs are green, yellow or red. We know that a red light is the symbol that means STOP! The symbols in our church mean things to us too! Let’s go on a tour, or look at pictures of these objects now.
We will now have a scavenger hunt of different things in the worship space that have symbols that we may not know about.

Section 3: The Rosary
Create your rosary lapbook
In the plastic bag there should be directions, a file folder and a brand new Rosary just for you! Your rosary either has a guardian angel or a chalice on it. Anyone know why?
Tips: Notice how the prayers will be cut to different sizes. If you color the "Hail Mary" prayer blue, then color all the beads on the rosary picture blue. If you color the "Our Father" prayer yellow, then color all the "Our Father" beads yellow. That will make praying the rosary easier.
Using this guide, try praying the rosary together using your new rosary and your new guide!
