Today is the first day of Lunar New Year of Mouse (I think mouse is cuter than rat LOL). Mouses are clever, quick thinkers; successful, but content with living a quiet and peaceful life.
The following links are for your reference if you are interested. Wish you all a wonderful new year and a relaxing weekend. From Mr. Wei Chun Tsai

Strategies for Students
SUPPORTING STUDENTS with Dyslexia * Use accessible materials and assistive technology, such as word prediction, speechto-text and text-to-speech software. * Teach with visuals, stories, and hands-on activities. * Avoid asking student to read aloud in class. * Break information into smaller steps and allow extra time to process. * Dyslexia affects reading and writing. * Allow verbal responses and model writing their verbal responses.
Although these strategies are great for students who have been identified with a learning disability, these are good strategies for ALL students.
This information comes to us from the IDOE.

Active Threat Training
Our LSC School Safety Task Force Team will be hosting Active Threat Training Session at Jefferson High School on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM. The training will be in three locations. We will start in the JHS Auditorium. This training is for the following groups:
- Bus Drivers
- Custodians
- Maintenance
- Cafeteria Staff
- Health Service
- ESS
- Paraprofessionals
Please pass this information to these groups of individuals in your building. We understand there will be some individuals who will be unable to make the training because of building responsibilities. We will schedule future training dates for the rest of the Lafayette School Corporation.
Participates can park in the following locations at Jefferson High School. South Canopy Parking Lot, Tecumseh Front Parking Lot, and or the JHS Band practice field, which is west of Tecumseh. Participates will enter door #16 and check in outside the Auditorium. We ask that all participates have the Lafayette School Corporation Identification badge to check-in.
Our LSC School Safety Task Force Team is very excited about this training for our staff. We look forward to a very productive session of how to handle an active threat.
If this pertains to you and you are interested in attending the training, please let me know as soon as possible.
