Assembly
The PTO sponsored an amazing assembly featuring Max Wilhelm from America's Got Talent. He is a BMX biker with awesome stunts. His message was to never give up and it is great to be different. He was bullied when he was younger, but he took the things that were unique about him and turned it into a career!
Lock Boxes
Mrs. Sayre set up a lock box adventure for us. She made a word search based off of our Scholastic News and once the children found the words, they had to lookd for overlapping letters to make a mystery word that needed to be unscrambled. Once they figured out the word, they had to go to the treasure chest and use the letter combination to open it. If the lock did not open, they needed to go back and work on the word. Every group was able to open the box and receive the treasure. Ask you child what the mystery word was and what the treasure was!
Math
Math
Using a number line is a strategy for subtraction. We had the children use a spinner for the larger number and a dice to roll the smaller number to subtract from. We had to prove our answer using the number line.
More math
How about using a human number line? This was one fun way to make sure we count backwards correctly!
Top Dog
Gabby was our Top Dog--she wore a different dog shirt every day!!!! She loves her pet hamster and pet cat. She wants to be an orthopedic doctor when she grows up. She is pawsome at taking care of her pets and ice skating.
