Tech Tuesday! December 8th

Tech tips to keep you informed

EDCAMP NJ - Reminder

Just a reminder - If you would like to be involved in planning our first annual EdCamp, please shoot me a message. This is a k-12 event that will draw educators from around the state and beyond. The planning is being done almost entirely virtually (We don't need more meetings) but we will need a lot of help on the day of the event 4/30/16. Thank you to those of you who have already joined the team, it's going to be a lot of fun! Also - if you are too busy right now, we hope that you will plan to come that day as an attendee!

FMOT (Follow me on Twitter)

Want to be part of an international experiment in the power of people connecting on Twitter? Follow Anthony (@digucate) and help him reach more people worldwide. Last week there was a challenge to connected educators to help him get to 500 followers. I believe in the power of Twitter and although we need to teach our kids that "followers are not friends" this movement is being done in a much more sincere spirit. Consider giving him a follow - he is promoting proper digital citizenship skills for kids and has many great thoughts.

App of the week - again - Buncee

I mentioned Buncee a few weeks ago. You could use this to create presentations or have your kids make multimedia projects. If you check it out, like what you see (I think it is a powerful tool) and would be willing to try it with your classes and give the company some feedback, I've been offered some premium accounts for free. Let me know if you are interested. www.edu.Buncee.com Check out the video below to see how it can be used.

Slack

16 people have taken the plunge into the world of Slack this past week. I love using it so far. Very intuitive and enjoyable. We're breaking up into various topics to converse with one another. More people are being added this week but if you would like to join the party sign up here and join the party: https://colls.slack.com/signup.
