November 1, 1993 the E.U. was created at Maastricht, Netherlands by France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Netherlands and Germany.
Why was the E.U. created?
the E.U. was created to promote peace, the values of human rights, democracy, equality, the rule of law and the well being of people.
What has the E.U. done?
The E.U. has improved air and water quality, made cheaper international calls, created equal opportunities for everyone, democracy and human rights, made cheaper and safer flights, foreign aid, easier passport- free travel, single currency, single market and peace.
Effective or Not?
We think the E.U. is effective because the E.U. is helping countries come to peace, the Brussels set the standards of human rights and the E.U. has tackled discrimination on gender, race, age and disability
