Superintendent's Message
March 24, 2023
Clever Families,
We have officially rolled into spring and it’s nice to leave winter behind and enjoy a little more sunshine each day. Spring is a activity-packed time here at school. Spring sports have begun, Special Olympics will take place in April, prom is coming up, and seniors are anxiously anticipating graduation. We hope that you were able to take some time during spring break to relax and spend time with your family, because this season is busy!
As you know by now, The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has released the latest scores for school districts across the state. Earlier this month, we sent out a newsletter giving an explanation of APR, why these results are important, and how we will use them as we make plans for the future. If you missed that newsletter, you can find a copy here.
Recently, our long-range planning (LRP) committee met to begin work on the long-range plan for our district. The group, comprised of different district stakeholders — teachers, staff, school leaders, parents, community members, students, and district administrators — is focused on determining how the district can best prepare for optimized student learning and facility needs. I am grateful for the work the committee members are doing and I’m excited about what lies ahead.
As always, I want to thank you for your support. Our community and school district continues to grow and we are looking to the future. Our partnership with you is vital as we strive to find the best ways to meet the needs of our students.
Sincerely,
Dr. Breeden
Superintendent
