Lincoln School News
December
Message from Mrs. Hawkins
Lincoln Families and Friends,
As December comes to a close, I am reflecting on 2021. What a crazy year it has been, a year filled with much joy and some challenges. I am so fortunate to work at Lincoln Elementary and I want to express my gratitude for the following:
I am thankful for our students and the opportunity to meet with them in-person.
I am thankful for a staff that is dedicated to inspiring excellence in our students every day.
I am thankful for the LIncoln community, especially the PTO, for supporting our students and staff.
And I am thankful for the winter break to spend time with family and friends and the opportunity to rest and recharge.
We will return to school in January and continue with our teaching and learning. We will assess students to find out how they are doing in their reading and math skills. Using that data we will make adjustments to our instruction and provide all students what they need to be successful. We have one reading intervention teacher and two Reading Corps Tutors that support our students with reading. We also have a team of Educational Assistants that support students in reading and math. We will meet students where they are and walk forward with each student at their pace.
We continue to need substitute teachers and support staff. If you have any interest in helping out, please contact the District Office and they will walk you through the process. This is flexible and rewarding work.
Happy New Year to you and your Family!
Mary Hawkins, Lincoln Elementary Principal
