Game On! Let's Create Champions!
Monday, February 10th
- Do not stress! This is something good. You get to shine. :-)
- They will observe 2 to 3 classes per grade level and departments.
- Observations will be about 10 minutes per classroom.
- They will look for evidence of our Improvement Required Campus goals such as Restorative Practices, objectives aligned to instruction, cooperative strategies and small group learning.
- The content focus will be around Language Arts and Math.
- They will also observe campus climate and culture through observing hallway transitions, lunchtime and cafeteria activities, campus arrival/dismissal, and/or campus culture artifacts (bulletin boards, posters, announcements, etc).
- They also want to observe the Study of the TEKS since this is one of the artifacts. 2nd Grade, you get to shine on this day. You are all fantastic, and I love your collaboration.
They will use our data collected from Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 (end of February) and from observations to guide us into the next steps.
I had a video conference with representatives today, and they are excited to visit our campus. Continue collecting artifacts to support our improvement plan. :-)
Keep up the good work!
Mrs. Valdes
LVES Campus Targeted Improvement Plan
Campus Leadership will create a focus approach to look for specific skills in lesson plans during observations.

What is our Data Telling us?
Please take a minute to look at our data. Reflect on the following:
- What are some celebrations?
- What are some areas for growth?
- Do our students know where they are in their learning journey?
- Do they have specific actions steps to keep moving forward?
- How is their progress towards these goals celebrated?
- How are we using this data to make adjustments to:
- Guided reading
- Literacy stations
- Restorative Practices (Circles, Sparks, Connections, etc.)
- Our implementation of Second Step Curriculum (social emotional curriculum)
- Our use of diverse resources and instructional strategies
