The Week Ahead
Week of May 11th
Dear Greenlodge Friends,
Welcome back Aubrey! We recently heard from Nicole Campbell that she has decided not to return to Greenlodge next year. Wishing her all the best in her future endeavors!
As we look to the week ahead, remember to be kind to yourself. We are in our 9th week of remote learning with 24 days to go. You all have certainly hit your stride! The support you are giving to families, development of remote learning plans and individual learning plans, and collaboration with one another is commendable!
Have a wonderful week!
~Ashley

News and Information
Student Assistance Team Remote Learning - Covid 2020 - Please continue to update your notes to the spreadsheet. Especially for the students we were unable to discuss last week. We will use our entire staff meeting next Wednesday to follow-up on student supports in small groups.
Virtual Family Cultural Festival- this month we are going to be encouraging families to learn more about their family's cultural heritage and or a country of interest. In week one families were encouraged to choose a country and begin reading and/or watching videos to learn more. This week we will encourage families to make recipes, listen to music and take a virtual visit to the country. The following week, it will be suggested that families create a poster and make a video presentation. Posters will be hung in the front windows of the school and videos will be shared virtually at the end of the month. Click here to view the flyer that will be shared with families.
Google Meetings with students ... These meetings ARE NOT mandatory. But... Greenlodge staff are rocking these meetings! Every single classroom teacher, special educator, paraprofessional and related service provider have been participating in these meetings with students. For not being mandatory, that's impressive! Please remember to add them to the Google Calendar and include the meeting password in the description.
Classroom Clean-Out, Summer Packing and Student belongings- This week we will begin allowing staff to schedule visits to their classrooms/offices. The first priority will be to clean out student desks and second will be to pack your things for summer cleaning. Click here to sign-up to come into the building and for details. We will be arranging for families to pick-up all student belongings the week of May 18th. Please click here to sign-up to help out. (Note: If you signed up on a previous sheet, those dates and times have been cancelled. Use this sheet.)
Placement: We are beginning to work on placement for the Fall of 2020. Parents have begun to send input letters. In lieu of the placement cards, I have created a spreadsheet for us all to contribute relevant information that would normally be on the cards. We will be reviewing further at our staff meeting on Wednesday. Remember, this is a highly confidential process and all placement decisions up until the last day of school are DRAFT only.
Happy Birthday to...
and
Sharon Weidenaar who celebrates on Sunday
**Be sure your birthday is on the calendar so we can celebrate with you!***
