Senior Interview Day

The Class of 2020 had the opportunity to practice their interview skills during Interview Day on September 5th. The Cascade High School Guidance Department and the Hendricks College Network partnered to bring in volunteers from local businesses to interview the seniors and give them interview tips and advice.

College and Career Application Day

Cascade High School juniors and seniors had the opportunity to meet with 40 representatives from public and private colleges, trade schools, businesses, and military branches during the 2019 CHS College and Career Application Day. The CHS Guidance Department organized this opportunity for our students for the 8th consecutive year. Our juniors and seniors were able to practice valuable college and career readiness skills and help themselves prepare for their lives after high school. Thank you to all of the representatives for attending and to Mr. DuBois, Mrs. Bright and Mrs. Smyth for organizing this valuable career and college readiness event once again for our students.

Mr. DuBois, Mrs. Bright and Mrs. Smyth

We are lucky to have the best high school guidance department in the state at Cascade High School. Mr. DuBois, Mrs. Bright and Mrs. Smyth are critical to the success of the students and staff of CHS as they develop student schedules, track student progress toward graduation, work with students on their 4 year educational goals and for their plan after high school, write letters of recommendation, organize events such as Interview Day and College and Career App Day, conduct parent meetings throughout the school year, counsel students on academics, social and emotional learning and college and career paths, organize a yearly college bus tour, plan the Night of Awards, serve as the state testing coordinators, among other things. Thank you to Mr. DuBois, Mrs. Bright and Mrs. Smyth for all that you do for us!

Home Learning Day

Monday, October 7th will be a Home Learning Day for all Mill Creek Community School Corporation students. Teachers will be participating in professional development activities while CHS students will be working from home, using their Chromebooks and accessing Canvas for their assignments.

C.A.D.E.T Hall Of Fame

The C.A.D.E.T. Hall of Fame inducted the third class of members at pre-game festivities of Homecoming 2019. New inductees include former teachers Luanne Clunie and Diane Flint, who combined to serve more than 70 years at CHS. Also inducted were Diana Hampton Hadley from the class of 1967 and Dr. Roger Beck, who was a member of the very first graduating class of CHS in 1965.

The new additions will now be permanent fixtures in the Hall of Fame display in the upper concourse of the main gymnasium.
