NEWSLETTER

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

As the holiday season comes around, it is also a reminder that we are almost half way done with the school year. As we all look forward to winter break - parents, teachers, and students alike - we must also remember that school is not over and there is still lots of work to be done!
Big picture

2nd Grading Cycle was here and gone! Now the 3rd is in full swing.

So how are you doing this school year? We have reached week 13 and by now, you "should" be well adjusted to your teachers and your classes. You "should" know your classroom expectations with regards to your academics and behavior. Are you adjusting well? It's an easy question but may be tough to answer. Don't forget...there are numerous resources available to you...you just have to use them. Once you do, you will be amazed at the difference they make!

ACADEMICS

  • Tutoring (mornings and afternoons)
  • Homework Center (before and after school)
  • Working Lunch for Re-Teach and Re-Test
  • Keeping up with your binder and planner
  • Visiting the Counseling office for assistance with Individual Planning

BEHAVIOR

  • Ask yourself, what is my job when I come to school?
  • Visit with the Counselor for tips to help you stay on track in the classroom!

SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL NEEDS

Middle school can be rough due to the changes you are going through in changing from a child to and adolescent. Don't add to this stress by getting involved with drama or taking on other people's problems. Focus on yourself, your success, and seek help from an adult (like a counselor) if you feel there is an issue that is just too much for you to handle. We are here to help you work through these and support you when navigating through middle school.

As Mr. Liendo says, "Your job is to come to school and learn. Our job is to help and teach you. If we both do our jobs, then we can't lose." Take that advice and start focusing on what you are here for - to get an education and excel in your extra-curricular activities.
