LeRoy Butler Visited with Cadott students
LeRoy Butler III (born July 19, 1968) is a former American football strong safety who played his entire career with the Green Bay Packers (1990–2001). He won Super Bowl XXXI with them over the New England Patriots. He spent his childhood in Jacksonville, Florida, challenged by physical problems that forced him to wear leg braces and use a wheelchair at times while undergoing therapy.
In his "Butler vs. Bullying" campaign, LeRoy takes a grass roots approach by striving to bring professionals, teachers, parents/families together to discuss, in an open microphone format, the social problems that derive from bullying.
After the assembly was finished students were invited to meet LeRoy in person. Students got to talk with him and could ask for an autograph. After the assembly LeRoy came and visited the Elementary where he joined Mrs. Goettl and the Kindergarten thru 3rd grades to say hi and join in our school song "It starts in the heart". It was an exciting and memorable day for staff and students.

Attention Girls in grades 3-5!
Have you heard about Girls on the Run? We will be starting our 4th season in Cadott this February, and we are looking for lots of girls who want to join our team! Every Monday and Thursday, we meet to learn about each other, ourselves, and of course EXERCISE!
Girls on the Run is NOT just for girls who like to run - it is for every girl! We use running as a tool to help girls discover their personal power, but we are much more than a running program! We play fun games that help us get us active and prep us for a noncompetitive 5K run/walk at the end of our season (May 11th) with all of the other Girls on the Run chapters in the Chippewa Valley.
Girls on the Run registration begins January 14th! Want to know more before registering? Feel free to stop into Mrs. Mathison’s classroom before or after school, or have your parent/guardian call me at 715-289-3795 or email me at mathisona@cadott.k12.wi.us.
Go to www.gotrchippewavalley.org to register starting January 14th!
Assistant coaches this year are Becca Blanchette, Lea Harel, Christine Schmidt, Rachel Woratschka and Allison Morrow. Feel free to connect with them as well if you have questions.
I hope to see you on our team! Girls on the Run is so much fun!
Sincerely,
April Mathison

Cadott Wrestling
I am very excited about the future of Cadott Wrestling! We currently have over 80 wrestlers in the elementary school participating in our wrestling program. I wanted to say thank you to all the parents and staff members who volunteered or supported our wrestlers this weekend. All three tournaments were very successful. Around 540 athletes competed in our facilities over the weekend! I have received many compliments on our facilities and on how organized and helpful our tournament workers were. Our youth coaches are awesome role models and their hard work shows. The Hornet wrestlers displayed good sportsmanship, gave their best effort, and displayed their best behavior. Finally, the amount of parent support was amazing. Your support and help this weekend is very much appreciated. We have a lot to be proud of!

OPERATION ROUND UP! Neighbors Helping Neighbors during times of hardship
Hardship causes include a family member medical condition, a death in the family, or displacement from their home caused by fire or other means. Unemployment, unless caused by one of the before mentioned causes, would not qualify as a hardship.http://www.cwecoop.com/content/operation-round
Help Your Community by "Rounding Up" your electric bill - see details below
One of the founding principles of your electric co-op is neighbors helping neighbors. Our cooperative is in touch with the communities we serve. Our directors and employees live in these communities. That's why we work hard to achieve a better quality of life for our member-owners.
In that spirit, Operation Round Up was launched. Operation Round Up is a program designed to raise funds for charitable organizations, individuals in need and educational purposes. As the name suggests participating members bills are rounded up to the nearest dollar. On average the annual donation will be around $6. One hundred percent of the money is given to local concerns with no funds used for electric bills, administrative costs, or political purposes. A simple application to the independent board overseeing the Operation Round Up is all that is needed to apply for funds. Please see below for an application.
Collectively and for just pennies a month we can make a difference in our communities!
