Building Our Future... One Child at a Time

September 28 - October 2, 2015

Quote of the Week...

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education." ~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Leave Slips

When you are out of the building for administrative, personal or sick leave, it is your professional responsibility to submit a leave slip to account for your absence. Whenever possible, they should be turned in before the absence takes place. Leave slips can be found in the office near the teacher mailboxes and on the counter near Joan Houston’s desk.

Increased Access to Personal Leave for Less-Than-12-Month Employees

Effective 9/1/2015, less-than-12-month employees may designate a maximum of 5 days each year of their sick leave balances as personal leave. In prior years, the maximum was 3 days. All personal leave requests are subject to prior approval of principals/ program managers to ensure leave can be accommodated without classroom disruption. Time and attendance reporting will remain unchanged. Updates to sick leave regulation 4819 will be posted as soon as possible in support of this benefit improvement. More information is available on our Benefits website and via client services: HR Connection or 571-423-3000. For Time & Attendance questions, contact or 571-423-3332.

  • from Kevin Greata, Math Department Chair at West Springfield High School: "I wanted to thank you all for welcoming me at Cardinal Forest today and inviting me into your classrooms. I had a great time! The three number talks that I observed were all well done and the students were engaged and enthusiastic about their strategies. There were some real breakthroughs.
