Class Placement for 2020-2021

Class placement will be coming home next week. In the email, you will learn who your child's homeroom, switch, and MILE (if applicable) teachers are. Please know that the teachers and administrators spent a great deal of time on placement - taking into consideration academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. We will not be switching any students from where they are placed.

Uniforms in 2020-2021

The school will be taking uniform donations in preparation for next school year once we return to the building. If you’ve been busy cleaning out your outgrown uniform shirts, outerwear, and bottoms, we would love the donations! Please set them aside for us so we can expand our clothes closet for those that need them.

We will be allowing students to wear solid colored (and MCAA) t-shirts and collared shirts along with the embroidered collared shirts with khakis next year. The shirts must be navy, light blue, or maroon. We are also happy to share the logo if you have a preferred place to get embroidery done - just let Dr. Patterson know. We will also continue to have dress-down days every Friday (with the purchase of a dress-down tag).

Playground Erosion Project - Thank You PTSA

Our third graders worked through a STEM project at the beginning of the year that involved "fixing" the erosion problem on the playground. We worked with a local landscape company during the project and, last week, the students' solutions were turned into a reality. The playground will not flood as much as it has in the past and the erosion problem will get better! There are two more stages for the project, so third graders for two more years will work to continue the solution! Thank you, PTSA, for funding this project.

Staff Change

Mrs. Foy will join our 5th grade team - FULL TIME - as a Math/Science teacher next year! She is taking Mrs. McManus's place - as she is moving to Florida.

Marietta City Schools Foundation - MCAA Endowment

Please consider helping us prepare for the anticipated budget cuts by donating to our MCS Foundation Endowment. The funds collected will go toward STEAM staff development, supplies and enrichment for learning spaces. All donors will receive a new MCAA magnet!
